Is unity just for making games? or can it be used to make a short animation or movie?
Thank u
The only difference between a video game and a movie is user input.
Given, it’s a hell of a lot harder to make a movie in unity than it is a video game, but you could still do it.
I have used it to make product and idea presentations. If you can draw it then they will come.
I tell you all story: I worked in computerLand in 1982. Computers all over the place with black screen with white prompt. Apples and IBMS alike. Too geek-a-fied. I took over. Started running game demos and color pictures on screens. Sales shot through the roof. The common man only understand pretty pictures. Pretty pictures sell.

why is it much harder to make a movie in unity than making a game?
Can it be used to animate models? Sure.
These models cannot be made in Unity though, so you’ll have to use a modeling tool to create them. Nearly every modeling tool also has an animation tool build into it. I don’t see why you’d do this through Unity.
But if you already have the models and animations and like using Unity… why not I guess.
Thanks
One more questions:
Internet is getting very good at providing tons of games to play for free. do you guys make games in unity for fun or do you market and sell your games?
I have personally used Unity to simulate ideas that I’m trying to put across. I did this for a project I did for Intel and Dolby Labs, and they loved it. I have also used it do demonstrate an animation set I created for a character.
