Is unity suitable for a teenager wanting to get into game design?

I’m 13 years old and I want a career in game design. Is unity the right choice to start with? I have used game maker studio but I want to make different types of games like FPS’s. I understand that it will take time to learn and that I’m not going to make AAA games right away and I’m willing to learn c#. Thanks for any responses.

Yes. But have patience. Programming takes a long time to learn and sometimes you may not want to think of it at all for months or years. It can be frustrating and unnerving to face a problem that you can’t figure out, knowing that you produced it.

There’s no way to make a game without being a good programmer. For some reason many questions here are started by people who believe the opposite, but they never return.

Personally I think the game landscape would look a lot different today if the Unity of today had existed 10 years ago.
