We’ve tried several things, like using the same mesh(but modified to fit our shoreline), copying all the settings, etc. Nothing works.
Obviously something is missing. How were the waves/foam constructed in the island demo, and please give every step?

I would also like to know how this is done, from being a 3D Modeler I would guess that the waves are a texture that you have to place along the shore by hand, but as to the exact method I do not know.
I’m interested in this also, I wonder if they are all models placed by hand around or if there’s some kind of shader that takes care of it.
Generally you use a combination of animated normal maps and animated texture maps.
As far as I know Unity Pro comes prepackaged with better looking water.
