Issue related to AR supported device compatibility

We have developed an AR App on Unity 2021.1.17f1.

We used AR Foundation plugin version “4.2” with that.

But we are facing some issues recently, like the App is showing as NOT COMPATIBLE on some of the devices that are already AR compatible eg: “Redmi Note 9 Pro Max”, etc.

Below is the list of the other devices that are also showing the same issues:
o One Plus 5 A500
Android version: 10

o Huawei MediaPad M5
Model: SHT-W09
Android version: 9

o Pixel phone (latest version)

o Galaxy 6

o 7” Google Table
Samsung SM G935F
Samsung SM T560

Could someone please guide on sorting the issue? This is actually very urgent. Thanks to all in advance.

First thing you’ll want to do is ensure that your device is supported in the region you are trying to support it in. Refer to ARCORE documentation here: Устройства с поддержкой ARCore  |  Google for Developers

Hello,

We have matched the mentioned devices and validated your comments. Thanks for the input. Most of the devices are not mentioned in the Google list, so we are not concerned about those.

But the device “Redmi Note 9 Pro Max” is listed in the Google document ARCore destekli cihazlar  |  Google for Developers and it supports ARCORE, but still, the app is showing as NOT COMPATIBLE with the device.

Could you all kindly guide us on the same? Thanks in advance.

Hello All,

Could someone please guide us on the above-raised concern? Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Hello TreyK, Could you kindly share some thoughts on my last response as why the devices “Redmi Note 9 Pro Max” and “Mi A3” being AR foundation compatible devices and listed in Google compatible documents are showing the app as “NOT COMPATIBLE”.

Any type of guidance is much appreciated.

Hello, Any update at your end?

Apologies for the delay! Compatibility is determined by the platform and not ARFoundation. If it is showing unsupported on a supported device then I’m afraid you will need to connect with Google about it: Issues · google-ar/arcore-android-sdk · GitHub

Thanks, TreyK-47 for your response. I tried contacting them also, but unfortunately no response from them also.

Can you share any contact form link or contact number of them where I can have a word with them from India?

Waiting eagerly for a response. Thanks!

FYI for anyone finding that their device is not compatible AND the device is actually on the compatible device list.

go to Device catalog in Google Play Cpmsole

Once there, search for your device (as per the op’s example, Redmi Note 9

As you can see, its listed as unsupported. If you click on arrow it gives you more details as to why.

Hopefully this helps anyone running into this type of issue. My issue was with a Samsung A8 (2018), which is listed on Google as supported, but is actually not compatible.

Pretty sure you need a developer account with Google Play ($25 USD) to access this list.
