Issue with docking windows

Hello there!

I’ve been encountering a very frustrating problem this past week or so. I opened Unity to find that all of the windows were gone apart from the ‘game’ window; I thought that all I would have to do to get back to my normal interface would be to right-click the ‘game’ tab to add the other tabs like ‘inspector’ etc, but on right-clicking and selecting ‘add tab’, all of the options for adding new tabs are greyed out. I can add the windows by clicking ‘window’ in the top toolbar and then selecting the relevant window, but then Unity won’t allow me to dock these new windows into the original ‘game’ window’, so I end up with a bunch of windows which can dock into each other but not into this original game window, so I have to keep them separate. This makes for a very unfriendly interface!

Would be very grateful for any help!

Daniel

I’ve just fixed this: went to window > layout > revert factory settings, which solved the problem. Am leaving this post here in case it’s of use to others. And because I can’t figure out how to remove the post. I’m that stupid.
