Issues with blur image effects on Kindle Fire

We’re having some major issues with blur image effects on the Kindle Fire and Fire HD, and wondered if anyone else had had similar problems/any idea what the cause may be? It seems to be that for any effects which use a blur (including vignetting, tilt shift, etc) the effect is being applied repeatedly, as if there’s a camera buffer not being cleared… for example, a blur on an object will remain even once the camera’s moved away, and vignettes appear to morph and re-apply on top of itself, then remain on screen.

This issue doesn’t occur on any other platforms we’ve tested on - including the same build on other Android devices, such as the Nexus 10 which runs it without issue.

I had a similar thing happen to me recently when testing on an S3. It ran fine on every other device we tested on besides the S3. I don’t remember where I found it, but someone else suggested turning off “Use 32-bit display buffer” in the Android Player Settings and switching it to “Use 24-bit depth buffer”.

This solution worked for us, and our app now runs fine on all of the devices we have tested it on.

Edit: Our problem happened all of the time, regardless of whether or not we were using any image effects. Hopefully this workaround will work for you even though your problem is a little different.
