Issues with Road/Path and River Tools in Unity 4

Hi,

This post is for the benefit of users of our free Road/Path and River Tools.

After testing and some reports from users, it has come to our attention that there are substantial breaking changes in Unity 4 that prevent these tools from working as expected.

Neither the Road/Path Tool or the River Tool are currently supported in Unity 4. It is likely that they will need a complete overhaul and re-release. This is on the agenda, but we cannot confirm a date at this stage.

To this end, this has been noted on our website, and they will shortly be removed from the Asset Store – to be replaced by a brand new tool at some point in the near future.

The existing tools will remain freely available on our website, but support will not be available for for Unity 4.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thanks for your understanding and support!

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask.

Please note that this only affects the two aforementioned free tools. UniSky is fully supported on both Unity 3 and 4, and a 1.3 release with new features is on the horizon.

Hey, I have both tools and I haven’t had any problems in Unity 4, both free and pro versions are compatible albeit a few minor bugs, but nothing breaks.

How did you get the placing of path nodes to work, though? For me, pressing R does nothing. (I’m using Unity 4)

I really need the tool to make paths! Is it an easy fix or do you need to mess with the code or something?

I press P to make the nodes…but then I can not see what I am making. I am trying to make a river and I am having trouble. But other then not seeing it I am fine…sooooo how do I make a river is my real question…?

@CatBountie – What version of Unity are you using? Is it 3.x or 4.x?

Please note that these tools are now discontinued and we no longer officially provide support them in any version of Unity – 3.x or 4.x. The pages and download links on our website, as well as the YouTube videos will be permanently removed in a few days time.

Does anyone still have these packages, I am still using Unity 3.5 so would like to try them ou.
