I thought I would post about a project I am currently involved and am really excited about. As one of the software developers, the company I work for is using Unity to develop an educational and a few entertainment apps to support a device we have in development called a JamStik, which is a portable digital guitar that connects to your iPad or iPhone. By using light to scan your fingers, the device senses in realtime as you press real strings to fret and pick as you play and sends that information back to the iPad or iPhone.
The education supporting app in development will help you learn how to play guitar by teaching you what you need to know and correct your fingering as needed in real time. We are also developing a guitar hero type of game that will also work with the JamStik among other apps. The JamStik itself also works with other midi related apps found on the iTunes store such as Garage Band.
To help out with the last phase of production on both the device and supporting apps, the company I work for, Zivix, has launched an indiegogo campaign.
