Hello!
(working with unity3)
I’m trying to have a 3d environment where the user can drag around books! In the prototype the books are two boxes connected with a joint that limit the rotation so that a book can be open only by 90°
(The book are dragged around with the dragrigidbody script that comes with unity: this script works by attaching a spring joint to the dragged object and dragging the unbreakable joint around.)
I’m finding many problems with the “openable book”: even though I set a configurable joint with limits and projection mode for position (and rotation, eventually), when the book collides with anything that’static it gets stuck, but the non dragged part of the book still moves around, going well beyond the distance permitted in the projection method of the configurable joint (0).
What I would like to achieve is:
- when the book is colliding with an object it should stop trying to move in the direction that is blocked by the other collider.
- Similarly: when one of the two movable parts get stuck in the environment it should be impossible for the other parts to move around (i.e. outside of the rotation limits).
I don’t know if this problem can be solved, but I thank anyone that is willing to give some advice!
Great community btw,
Yours
