Joints from Maya not exporting to Unity, even turning off 'Segment Scale Compensate'

I have animated a flower ‘growing’ by scaling the joints from size 0>1. Its super neat and creates a nice effect. But I found out that Unity does not like this. Lots of forums advised to turning off ‘segment scale compensate’ in Maya, but that does nothing when I export it to Unity.

I can use a nurbs circle (flower parented to this), and scale the nurbs circle acting as a control. It does create the same effect, only annoying this is, I have to re-do that for all my flowers, and you cant see the control when its scaled at ‘0’.

If there is a fast/quick fix that I have become oblivious to online, tell me about it and I can delete this thread.

Thank you

Hey Mumford,

I threw together a quick test and was able to animate the scale on a skinned object without any trouble, what are the FBX export settings you are using?

Also, which 3d package are you exporting from?

Oh hey. Sorry for the delay in reply, I thought I ticked email notifications but I guess not

It worked for you? I am currently using Maya 2016. I was not sure if you wanted a list of my export settings, which would take a while so I have a screenshot of the settings.
