Is it possible now, or would it be possible to include in a later version, to have basically a picture in picture?
Say for instance I wanted to have a camera in game that would display on a security monitor. Or possibly have it set up as a rear view mirror or some such.
Thats called render to texture, you take a camera and make the output render to a texture. This is cool for doing real time reflections also. This however does require pro.
Depending on what you want to do, you can have a portion of the screen show a different view. Just use multiple cameras. It’s just that you can’t make that view be part of the geometry without pro.
I have been working on a multi-camera radar for a while. You can check it out here. Remember its a work in progress! Multicamera systems are way easy to set up though, all you need to do is change the view port rect and depth, both of these are in the inspector.
Sexy normal map on the ship. Did you just paint it? …Can I see it? ^^
Also, I’m amazed that you can draw a layer on top of another with translucency without punching my feeble video card in the brain. I knew this could be done but thats the first time I have seen it done.
I did paint it and it was made in blender. Im re-making all my ships in maya with a full normal map using surface sampler ie. (baking normal maps from a highpoly mesh) I dont like that ship a ton any ways, little fugly right now, the new one will be much cooler.
Sorry to get off topic!
layering cameras I guess doesnt really have a huge performance loss, a camera it’s self doesn’t really slow any thing down, it’s what it renders that does.
I have no problem giving that model + textures to you since im not going to use it. Grab me on aim at treeburners500, and ill send it over.
