Just dropped in from unother engine.

Thank you Unity, Unity devs, community and community devs!!!

@ Unity
I was unaware of how excellent this engines coding is. I was working hard to do things which are so painless here. It felt like I was working for the work itself and not its finale outcome. I was attracted to the engine when my searches for assets kept revealing much better products at much better prices. Once I committed to the switch it became more about what I wanted to do then what I could. So I went searching for the addons I would need for Blender and Substance. It took Unwrapping my head from the wreckage to get that ‘warm and fuzxy all over’ feeling. Some dev dripping with awesomesauce had not only done it but written the manual on doing it exceptionally well.

@ Community

Holy Psygnosis Twinsen! The people and assets round these parts are a gamemakers wet dream. Quick question tho, how do you ever expect me to get to game making when the tools are this fun and well done.

Big TY for all those amazing and unbelievably free assets. As well as the monumental minigame you get when there to amazing not to try.

To be fair, going from hacking around with a prototype to seriously building a game can be quite an ordeal. It usually involves a change in mindset and methodology that disturbs everything that came before it. Basically don’t rush it. Take your time to really get comfortable with Unity and seriously understand how to use it. It’s the shift from beginner to intermediate (or maybe it’s more intermediate to advanced?) where it happens.

Otherwise, have fun (I should disclaim that I’m a Dwarf Fortress player, so I still expect a tantrum spiral or two, never mind the circus getting involved).
