JUST RELEASED!!! RapidUnity Extra Primitives

Hi all!

I have just released a new member to my RapidUnity suite of tools for Unity, Extra Primitives!

Extra Primitives is a Unity Editor panel that allows you to quickly and easierly add primitive objects to a scene.

Expanding on the existing handful of primitive shapes available with Unity, Extra Primitives provides a vast array of different building blocks, enabling you to mock-up or construct scenes within minutes.

And all without leaving the Unity Editor!

Extra Primitives currently includes 5 categories of primitives, these are as follows:

Rectangular Primitives
Spherical Primitives
Triangular Primitives
Cylindrical Primitives
Room Primitives

A total of 77 primitives to choose from, simply use the foldout controls on the interface to expand the primitive categories, and then click the thumbnail button to insert the primitive into the scene!

All primitives can be inserted into your scene with or without a collider component attached, simply check or uncheck the Create Colliders checkbox under the Settings foldout control at the bottom of the Extra Primitives interface.

Below are a couple of shots of some of the included primitives…

Using Unity’s built-in move, rotate and scale tools, allows you to modify the primitives, and allows you to construct and layout objects within your scene in no time at all.

Below is an image of a Greek Pantheon (a greek temple for the gods) I created in under 5 minutes using a combination of Extra Primitives and Array Wizard, I also lit the scene using RapidUnity Light Library.

I will be posting a YouTube video shortly showing you how I created it using my RapidUnity tools!

Extra Primitives is available now for only £9.99

To find out more about Extra Primitives and all my other RapidUnity tools, please visit my website, www.rapidunity.com

Seems a bit overpriced… All they are is geometry anyone can create in under 2 minutes a mesh. don’t know how much your going to sell at this price point.

Fair point, but 77 primitives x 2 minutes, that’s 2h 34m… not that rapid… time is money as they say!

Wait til you see my YouTube which is uploading now, will be available soon, really shows speed at which you can mock-up/construct a scene in Unity without having to keep popping between Unity and your favourite 3D Modelling application.

this looks like a time saver , just what im looking for … BUT : what are your terms of use with this commercially ? do we have to put you in the credits and advertise you everywhere with our project like the other prefab/package sellers around here ? i can’t find any infos about your terms anywhere on your site either

You can use all my products commercially with no reference or credit to me at all!

I will add a note on my site, thanks for comments!

ha… you just got me as a customer… Thanks
just bought it

Cool!

BTW all, YouTube video is posted, no audio as yet, but its a nice demo of how quickly you can get results with my tools in Unity, emphasis being on Extra Primitives.

Video is HD with audio!

Cool that was fast ! … i just got the package ! … gonna try it out now and post later what it was like in here

This is totally awesome ! I made this house below in 3 minutes ! 3 min. because i had to search all over where the objects were … so once i know where they are it will only take one minute to make this house again !!! … Thanks Greg ! You are saving me lots of time ! and time is money !

Video link isnt working for me. Out of interest you don’t mention on your webpage if these objects have uv mapping.

New video link, my last upload caused an error, computer! Huh!

Try this one…

Video is HD with audio!

Looks useful for non-artist types like myself so I bought it.

In fact, I’ve got all of your products. Keep up the good work!

I own 3 of the 5 products.

And I am interested in this…

Thanks guys!

I am glad my products are of use to you and help with your productivity within Unity.

Hi Greg

I too have bought one of your products.

I was curious about the array tool, could you add an option for the user to vary the seperation between instances ?
Also, if you did upgrade any of your interesting tools, would purchasers expect a free upgrade ?

Thank you

Hi Shader,

I am adding a Noise option to Array Wizard, which will allow users to add random variations to each copy, via a seed value, just got to find the time, not enough hours in the day.

With regards to upgrades, all updates I have released to date of all my products have been free, and will continue to be free to existing users.

Thanks for your previous custom Shader!

Here is a couple of shots of the Greek Temple from my YouTube tutorial for Extra Primitives with some texturing added, and also some light presets from my RapidUnity Light Library. Welcome to A-Lab Software! Your web 3D Content & Online Product Marketing Solution Providers...

Yes ‘random’ would be good too.
Thanks

i just like to say thanks again to Greg ! Because my first video wouldn’t have been done by now … i would be still trying to make the objects ingame …But thanks to Greg’s geniusness i now have my first video of my first game already !!

I bought the lightset. It seems that it has some problem (2010Oct 13) with unity3d v3 pro shadow.
I reported to Greg. No reply received yet.
Greg, did you solve the problem?
Are there any step-by-step tutorial for using the lightset?
(You won’t ignore existing customers, will you?)

Thanks in advance
