Keeper jump moment

Hi guys,

I am making a small penalty game and I am stuck at the point where I need to make the keeper jump. As far as I got right now, I’d need to measure the trajectory and the speed of the ball, and based on that add a certain force at position to the keeper to make him “jump” towards the ball. the problem is, I have no clue how to predict the trajectory of a soccer ball and thus have no clue when to actually make the character jump. When it would jump, I would also need to know how much force it needs applied to jump to aprox. the right position.

Can anyone help me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Hi,

I’ve been looking in to a similar issue and found some good reading at UnityAnswers (I did a Google search for “Unity answers trajectory” and found some good reading). I also recall seeing a script on the wiki which can draw a line based on a simple trajectory calculation (ignoring drag, etc). Check out the physics section.
