Kickstarter for affordable high precision Motion Capture system NEURON (Supports Unity)!

It got my attention today while doing some search about affordable motion capture systems.
Introducing PERCEPTION NEURON an inertial camera/markless real-time motion capture system for high precision motion capture data. Currently with Occulus Rift and Unity support (also a standard SDK for other engines and apps integration). The system can also be used as an input system for VR gaming and such.

I send an email to the kickstarter page main guy to ask him to chime here in case you got any questions.

Looks interesting.

Yeah already backed em while ago when I saw all the videos and very active comment section (answers).

They are very active engineers! They answered my question 10 seconds after my email!
Also their technology is the Occulus Rift version of inertial mocap systems (very cheap, very powerful and very affordable)!
We’ve backed the 500$ 30 sensors package!

Damn it, the 10 sensors pack is sold out! :frowning:

hi guys this is Tristan Dai (creator of Project Perception Neuron).
@tatoforever thanks for the introduction.
If you guys have any question about this new born, please kindly leave message here or on Kickstarter. We will work very hard to make this system not only affordable

I’m amazed at how lightweight and modular the system seems to be, very impressive! I have a question, do you have any plans in the future for some type of facial capture system based on the same technology?

Looks like PrioVR. Can’t wait till I get Occulus, PrioVR or this and Omni-Treadmill working together. Ah the possibilities.

Yes the $175 early bird price is all gone long time ago but there are $200 ones left

Up to now for facial capturing, I think the best solution is still optical/camera based technology. Check this out, I think this is the best solution so far but not commercialized. (from http://kunzhou.net/)

Very cool. Hopefully this will lead to some more awesome motion capture animation packages on the asset store!

This looks interesting. However from what I could see of the video demos there’s quite a bit of latency between input/output to the screen/PC. Any idea how bad it is?

For realtime game applications, input lag can make or break your controls.

Stretch goal look amazing !

Well I can see where that’s going

next stretch goal looking good too and if the trend remains the same it will be reached

Backed with the 30 sensor package!

Wow I could definitely use this for my current game project. But it looks like the 30 neuron full body kit is sold out :(. When will you guys have more full body kits and when is the public release date?

Actually I just saw this pop up on my steam sales feed: FaceRig

I remember they mentioned that in their kickstarter page, in the FAQ section. Personally though, I just see this as a very cost-effective DIY mocap studio so I’m not bothered for any potential input lag. The only other alternative for indie-friendly mocap I know is iPi Motion Capture, and it’s pretty pricey and still relies on cameras.

Isn’t that just the slightly cheaper early-bird version?

they have me, $500 for motion capture system, i am getting that is soon have the money
