This is not a “pledge my Kickstarter!” post.
I’m just wondering what kind of rewards someone should have for their free game.
Obviously, you can do the typical logo t-shirts, coffee mugs, hats, etc. You can also do “in-game” items. In my experience though, those don’t get the same kind of response as things like “free copy of the game!”
I think that’s because people look at that more as a pre-order. They don’t really care about t-shirts and hats from products that no one has ever heard of, and you can’t really feel the benefit of in-game items for something that doesn’t exist yet, so those rewards tend to fall flat.
So! What kind of rewards would you like to see on Kickstarter for a game that’s going to be 100% free anyway?
