Kind of Frame to divide gui controls from game scene?

Hello,

We plan to have a chess board game. on the right top side there should be the game scene (rotable board), on left side and bottim there should be chat, and so on.

Now so far what i seen with GUI elements, they are just an overlay, like a button. So im looking for a kind of “frame” functionality like html offers, or something other, to divide the “3d stage” from my control elements and 2d information screens around.

Is there any keyword you could mention? Is there such a kind of possibility?

Use GUI.Window, or GUI.Box.
