Here are the instructions for using the Recording menu to record your structures:
screenshot
You can configure keys before running the game through the unity launcher.
Important Keys to Know
W - Forward
A - Back
S - Left
D - Right
Space - Jump
Shift - Sprint
Left Click - Destroy Object
Right-Click - Place Object
E - Block Selector
R - Record Menu
To start recording (There is feed back in the game to show you what to do)
Hold E and select a block to use
Press R to open the Dynamic Structure Recorder
Press Record
Press R again to Close the Recorder
Hold E to select a block if you haven’t done so already
Place any block on the ground, this now becomes your cursor
Press R to bring the Recorder back up
Set your desired room or mass block placement settings or use default
Offset: How far away (Left or Right) of the cursor block to start building Cutter or Mass Placer
Depth: How deep you want your room or pile of blocks to be
Width: How wide you want your room or pile of blocks to be
Height: How tall you want your room or pile of blocks to be
click any of the 4 cut or place buttons. Click Set Dir to build opposite for each button, so in reality, there are 8 different types of mass placement tools to use if you also use the toggle button.
The recorder will also record any blocks you place in the game or remove.
When you are done making a structure, click stop on the recorder menu and the contents of the recording are now placed in your windows clipboard.
Either email the file to info@koncraft.com or post a screenshot here and paste the recorded data along with the screenshot so I know what structure is yours.
I will give credit in the game for any structures you create if they are used in the game.
maybe i confused you. Click record to simply record your actions you perform.
The rest of the stuff was in case you wanted to use the cutters and placers. They are not needed to build structures, just an added tool for convenience.
Hey!
Still waiting for the PM…
Ok, I had to iron out some issues that came up. This is a build specifically made for generating levels, so a lot had to be changed from the actual game and it ended up breaking a few things. I’ve been working all day on it and it’s now complete and for the most part playable. As soon as my obfuscation finishes, you will have the game. Keep an eye out for a PM for all of you.
Ok, thanks for being patient. Turns out there were some major bugs just when I thought it was ready. But it is now officially uploaded. You can all check your PM for the download link. Also, VanBlam made this short tutorial video on how to use the Design Recorder System in case you want to give that feature a go. Thanks for trying out the game!
Hey.
Can’t download the game from the link you sent me.
More details about my problem in PM.
I’ve removed it from our server now our download speeds are too slow, more people were downloading than I though were going to. For now, try this indiedb.com link
http://www.indiedb.com/downloads/mirror/54298/98/6bb8ea1bfa613c796d3f3c273445ecea
couple things to note that people noted:
It takes a couple of minutes for the world to first appear… i have not programmed a loading screen first.
This is pre-apha build, infininate terrain is disabled.
Just restart the game to generate a new level with a new random seed.
Press ESC on keyboard and click TOGGLE BLOCK REMOVAL SPEED or TOGGLE BLOCK PLACEMENT SPEED to do fast world building
Watch the video tutorial on our youtube page to learn how to do mass block removal and placement in large, up to, 1,000,000 block chunks.
I was laughing so hard ![]()
There was meant to be 4 chests at the top, but the recorder is not recording the chests…
Waiting for next version with the improved UI ![]()
