Lack of developers: Who has skills and what are they?

The Rules

Post

  1. Type of Developer
  2. Major Field of Study
  3. If in a group

I’m doing this for the benefit of the community because there seems to be a lack of resources for everyone to have as in developers. No need to go on and on about, oh I’m great at this and that. Please keep it to the rules like:

Type: Storyboard/Technical Artist
Fields: Card Games, TCG, RPG Storyboards, Drafting, Prototyping
Group: No as of yet, Starting Mad Duck Industries

Have you actually posted a request in the Commercial: Job Offering forum. I’ve found the problem to be that there are too many responses not too few.

i have in collaboration and no one has messaged me nor emailed me

So to sum up, you’re looking for people to work for free, on a pie-in-the-sky game, and you’re surprised that nobody is responding to your post?

Start smaller, and learn enough scripting to make a prototype on your own. Once you’ve proven you can get things done, it’ll be a lot easier to find other people with actual skills, too.

Try something like $20-$40/per hour, per person, employer pays for social security and health insurance payments.

Just beware of people with bad portfolio.

for a lack of faith…yes i have done my own prototyping…even though I suck at coding I DID make a working card game and several at that in 2d art…the reason I haven’t posted them is I DONT TRUST people like you all with the major details. There is a fine line between mockery and help and this is far from friendly advice

So you’re scared we will steal your idea?
Come on man, get real. This issue has been debated plenty of times, the consensus is pretty much no one is going to steal your idea.

i have had a hacker once steal ALL MY XBOX game data along time ago so I’m shy to share hardcore data

Someone “hacked” you and stole your project? If they released it on the store, did you take legal action?

So why did you share accounts (and/or) passwords with other people?

couldn’t it was before there were firewalls on computers and it was an anonymous system with a buffer from what my main source said…kinda like firing at me from a white bunker in snow…

Infinity 3d
Almost Total Mayhem
Emberlight
and a few others were taken and resold to companies for huge profit

i never associated with the hacker anyways. never knew him either

Suggestion.

Make that person whom you want to hire, get him a work visa and travel arrangements, get him work at your office. I’m sure you are legit game company you can spare some desk space for that person.

sadly im not. Im a freelance worker on a card game with no name. Been cheated, lied to, and among stolen from. If you could live in my shoes with only $720 a month, rent being $550, internet/Cable being $140, where as Electricity is an ungodly amount.

So in all no im not a ligit game company…wish i was but no…

Give them an arts test, coding test or modelling test first, and you check their skills.

all the original data was lost long ago in the translation…he/she was erasing and downloading at the same time so it was a copy and burn incident.

No backup?

You should have multiple copies of backup.

So this was actual source code stolen and not game ideas? In that case, that is really, really bad luck.

this was before pen drives were even issued…I never even had a cd-r system and this was all done on a E-Machines dated 11 years ago…strange I know. But the circumstance was I believe was to send a message to me for ruining someone’s gaming ego. Must of been one of the hacks i pissed off with the long gone Starwars Universe or SWKoToR.

Yah its been LONG GONE.

yah this was source code
