My team is using the Unity Asset Server as our “version control” system. Periodically we are noticing some strangeness with users’ reporting that entire change sets are becoming available as updates from months ago. While applying these change sets seems harmless since it is only replaying what’s already been done, it brings up an interesting issue.
Why isn’t there a complete resource available for the Asset Server on all platforms that includes commands, configuration options and maintenance tasks for the Asset Server to keep things running smoothly? This resource seems like a no-brainer but I’m not finding anything definitive (or sanctioned by the manufacturer) for the purpose of (e.g.) Clarifying the best-practice in the utilization of the Asset Server in production environments for end-users.
While Answers is a great vertical resource for single-topics; something as broad as the asset server and it’s use in production seems to warrant an entire manual on the unity site.
