large map help

ok… is it possable to make a 1:1 scale planet in full detail in unity?

That’s pretty ambiguous.

What do you mean by Full Detail? Every blade of grass? Every micron? Every Tree? These would take more space than your computer has, let alone taking a fleet of artists unimaginable amounts of time to create.

You can create extremely large maps, and procedurally create trees and grass for any particular area, and only ever have a very small section created at any one point.

This however is extremely complex and immensely advanced, and would require likely months of planning and prototyping to get a good basic idea of how you would tackle it correctly.

Game development is about taking shortcuts and making it all look real. There are many ways to make a seemingly unending world, and Unity can likely handle quite a few different concepts, but I think you need a better idea of the method you want to try and corners you want to cut before you ask if it is possible.

this isnt for a game

i mean indetail like the ground mountains lakes rivers and the islands >.> not the grass i got grass O matic for that xD that be crazy, truth im trying to remake a world that was in a dream when i was 5 : D lol
but just the land alone can it be done in unity?

Make an entire world in Unity? Easily. Make it in your lifetime? Not so easy. You could use fractal generation for that parts you don’t remeber, and make the more important parts manually. The greatest thing about unity as far as terrain, Is how fast it can be made. Fast, of course, is relitive to other progams (NEVER try to make a world in blender)
