Just a quick note to say that Make Bouncy Bouncy, ByDesign’s latest 3D casual game with the funny name, will be launching Friday Evening Dec. 28th 2007! (tomorrow evening, late or early, depending on your location haha)
Make Bouncy Bouncy is a puzzle-ish game where you bounce your way to the exit with the most bounces. The gameplay is layered such that it’s easy to pick up but still challenging to play.
With a variety of clean colorful environments and nice music, it’s low on violence and high on casual fun!
Friday, there will be an online demo, more info on the game’s features, purchase options, etc. but for now you can take a look at the teaser site located here:
Finished this _very_late Friday evening (well only if you live near Hawaii haha).
The Make Bouncy Bouncy site has been updated with the online demo, new screens, purcahse options, etc.
So if you want, go have a look. I’ll post another more complete msg here tomorrow, showcasing the specific technology the game uses; it’s a small game but it has some bigger features
Firefox does wierd glitchy things when trying to run that demo online, and the sound is missing completly. I say keep it simple with the HTML to be on the safe side. You don’t want to run into stuff like this, because the demo is unplayable in this state.
It’s running fine for me on both FireFox 2.0.0.11, and Safari. It ran fine in IE7 too in XP. Wow, there are a lot of details in the game. I see more every time I play it.
I’ve added a html only link below the demo link for people having trouble in their browser with the lightbox link.
I tested against standards compliant browsers IE6 but apparently there are some differences between how Firefox 2.0 on Windows and Firefox 2.0 on Mac deal with the same content. I’ll keep at it over the next few weeks to try to resolve the issues, else for now there is the straight html link.
Intriguing game… felt a bit annoyed there’s no “move back” option, as getting stuck up against platforms (on the ground) made me turn around and a bit tedious. The “Companion” option is, of course, genius.
Yeah, the input was simplified dramatically during development to ensure that anyone can pick it up and enjoy it and to better focus on the intent; so “move back” was pulled.
That said, you should be able to slide off those ground pads if you accelerate away from them at a slight angle… else consider them ground obstacles and avoid running into them at all!
