I’m on the road and have Unity 1.6.1 installed on my Mac Book Pro. The other day I tried to launch Unity while I didn’t have an internet connection and wasn’t able to get it running. Is this normal? If so is there a way to launch it without an internet connection?
I most often do not have an internet connection when running Unity (dial-up). So no, that’s not normal…

Unity doesn’t do any network connections or checks. This is excepting two situations: when reporting bugs, and when registering a serial number the first time. Both are very explicitly connecting to the network.

Most likely the 10.4.9 issue.
Yes, I’m having this problem on the same machine I initially had problems with 10.4.9. I tried running Unity on this machine (MBP 15") Thursday when I didn’t have an internet connection and it didn’t run. When I tried it yesterday, with an internet connection, it worked.
So I’m guessing the next version of Unity will fix this, right?
EDIT: To answer my own question, -Yes- this is fixed in the next update.
