left pointing arrow on samsung phones on android

My users report an arrow being rendered over the button i use over the menu on samsungphones. it appears to part of the samsungshell they put over android, but it causes users not to be able to open the menu in my case. Does anyone know what it is and more importantly, how to get rid of it?

Did you consider writing a small plugin that allows you to disable it ? I tried googling it but I cannot find any specific documentation in the Samsung SDK of that arrow do you have such ?
