Im trying to understand the Lerpz prefab character. When i bring him into max his bones appear as helpers not bone geometry. I'm using the skin modifier on my own mesh but how do i get my bones covered or exported as helpers? When i bring my character into unity currently i get bone geometry.
When exporting from max to FBX, the Exporter / Include / toggle box "convert geometry used as bones" :)
It seems the “convert geometry used as bones” option has disappeared in the latest version of the FBX exporter. Apparently what you are supposed to do now is:

Select the objects you are using as bones

Through the main menu bar go to “Animation” > “Bone Tools…”

In the Bone Tools dialog, under the “Object properties”, check “Bone On”

Now Reexport your model and the bones should be invisible.
