Level Designing for Unity3d

Hi, I am looking for any tutorials on level designing for unity3d.
Are levelmesh also exportable to unity through fbx format. Can we use Quake Army for designing levels.

Hi Do3D,

Yeah the FBX file format is certainly supported for level geometry. In terms of tutorials for level design its kinda hard to pinpoint something specific for Unity. I’m not familiar with “Wuake Army” but if you can export assets as FBX or process them in a different 3d package before importing you should be good to go.

Thanks Joe.
How are lightmaps made for unity3d. Do we have to make them in 3d editing software like 3dmax or unity can also generate lightmaps.

And quake army knife is level designing software.

I haven’t really done a search for BSP importers into Unity, but I doubt it supports such a format. Unity is geared towards supporting a lot of universal formats from 3D modeling programs.

I seem to remember reading somewhere about a lightmapper for Sketchup being supported pretty easily. I’d look into that, since Sketchup is a great modeling tool and will give you way more flexibility than QBSP, Quark, Qoole, etc.

Ah… here’s the thread I was looking for…
