LOD generally, at least to my limited understanding, relates to distance and polycount.
Has anyone looked at or heard of lighting level based LOD?
e.g. If an area of a scene has low light levels or is in shadow it’s LOD level could be much lower.

e.g. If an area of a scene has low light levels or is in shadow it’s LOD level could be much lower.
This has been done since Quake days, but you have to do it manually. Just select things that are in shadow and reduce their lightmap resolution.
