License Error after reinstalling Ubuntu

I installed Unity on a new computer running Ubuntu, but I had to reinstall the operating system, keeping old Unity files residing somewhere on /home.

Now I get two errors that make Unity unusable.

First, Unity believes that it’s offline. It says “You are not currently connected to a network. Some options will be unavailable.” This is untrue, but in itself would not be a problem, except for the second error.

It says “Machine identification is invalid for current license”, presumably because I have the pro license which is somehow still tied to the old OS installation.

Unfortunately, it only gives the options “Re-Activate”, which opens a browser, and “Quit”, which quits.

So question: where is the license file located on Ubuntu, so that I can delete it?

I have the exact same issue! I have tried removing my ~/.local/share/unity3D folder, and that seemed to get it to refresh that folder structure, but it’s still stuck on “Service not available, please try again later.” whenever I try to log in.
