Ever since the update i am running into an issue;
Every ‘new’ day i open Unity (since 4.0.1f2) Unity reports my license has expired.
I then have to re-activate my license (i have a 1yr educational license) which so far goes well every time.
But i’m starting to get worried for when i don’t have an active internet connection.
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue that they have to re-activate unity every day?
I’m having a similar problem. We have a educational license for 1 year that Unity has given us multiple activations on so we can distribute it to our roughly 100 students at the university I work for. We have allowed some students to upgrade from Unity 3.x to Unity 4 (our license we got from Unity is valid for Unity4 as well as 3), and since then, I have been getting helpdesk tickets from them repeatedly for their licenses. Sometimes, when they start Unity4, they’ll get an error message saying that their license has expired. At first I would re-input the license, but recently we’ve found that if you close and then reopen unity the message won’t come up, and unity will still be running with it’s valid, educational license. I’ve also noticed that this error does not seem to occur when the computer running Unity4 had it installed fresh, and not done as an in-place upgrade from 3 to 4.
It would seem to me that this is a license server bug related to in-place upgrades from Unity 3 to Unity 4, at least when educational licenses are being used.
