License Free version issue on Win8.1 after upgrade

I haven’t used Unity much since upgrading from Win 8.0 to 8.1. I think I’ve also upgraded from Unity 4.3.4 to 4.5 since Windows upgrade. Now it won’t start.

I get “License issue detected!” If I click “Re-activate” I get the following message:
“Failed to re-activate/update license. Reason: Serial was never activated on this computer…”

If I rename the Unity_v4.x.ulf file an “Error loading page SSL connect error” non-modal dialog appears over the Activate your Unity license" window. If I click “Activate the free version of Unity” and click ok a static wait icon appears. If I close the “SSL connect error” dialog Unity exits.

Hi,

Haven’t heard of this issue before.

Did you close Unity before renaming Unity_v4.x.ulf file? Otherwise take a look at the editor log file for additional information which might help to solve the issue (see Unity - Manual: Log files for location of log file). Let me know if you still have problems, in which case you can open a support case on this.

Figured it out. The license server needs to contact google analytics which was blocked as suspect software at our gateway. After allowing that access after a few odd errors I managed to download the license with my login.

I have the same problem with windows 10, is anyone have the solution ?

Try deleting your *.ulf file at
C:\ProgramData\Unity
