Primary issue I’m having is when attempting to build with Android under build settings, I get the message on the right panel “Your licence does not cover Android Publishing”.
I just uninstalled an old version of Unity and installed the latest version with the Unity Hub. I’m using a Personal License and am using Windows 7, no firewalls/AV in play (prior version of Unity (1 year old) worked fine with Android on this machine). During install I selected Android as an add-on. After installation, the Hub is now accessible, I tried creating a new project and received the above issue. I verified I’m logged in, tried log-off, restart, log-on, same issue. Back in Hub, I clicked in the upper right for account options, Manage Licence.
Check For Updates Button: This loads for a few seconds then says “Fail to Write License File”
Activate New License: After choosing my license it says “Failed to reach License Server”
Manual Activation: I went to the site and saved the license, loaded, but then get the message, “Failed to save the License File”
I tried Uninstalling all and re-installing, ensure Android election on install, same issues as above. I tried running with no network for offline options, same issue. I tried running just the Unity.exe file instead of UnityHub.exe, still loads Hub and same issue.
I had a similar experience 3 months ago on a laptop with Windows 10, but executing Unity.exe directly was successful in that case (older version of Hub was noted, and I will not be updating that offline laptop until this issue is resolved).
Any assistance is welcome as I am fully stuck at this point as Android seems off-limits to my use at this time.
This exactly worked, thank you very much claus_interactive! All that was necessary was the first part about deleting that license file, but I’ll keep the other options in mind should the issue return…
Same! wtf, unity!? A lot of issues of unable to save licence with latest hub version. Could you check amount of mentions of this problem in internet and do something with that?
