Hi there,
when a game is done and in store and I’m sure that it works fine and no updates are planned, does I still have to pay for a Unity license if the income is over $100.000 as long as the game is in a store or only while I really use Unity?
And is the income ($100.000) from games only or from the company itself (regardless of how the money is raised).
All we can do is read the same documents as you and interpret them.
Since we are not loyers and do not give legal advice its just a best guess.
So my best guess:
If you are not using unity after you launched the game and then you get over the $100.000 income you are not in a use of unity and do not need a license.
If you are using the unity cloud services or developing another game after this one its another story.
And even if you are over $100.000 , $40 per month for the Plus plan ( Up to $200.000) is not an unreasonable amount of money to pay per user.
