Just a quick question around licensing. Is the “Annual revenue” policy company wide?
ie. Can I use unity free if whatever i create doesn’t make more that $100k?
Or is it if my company makes more than $100k TOTAL revenue from all streams, i need a paid licence?
The application im planning to create doesn’t even sit in any app store, its a custom R&D project, so it revenue even a factor?
Basically, if your company made $100k in the last year regardless of revenue source, then you must use Unity Plus. Unless you are doing this at home on your own as an individual unrelated to your company, in which case it’s only Unity-based income from the previous year.
For example, if you work for Walmart, and were doing a one-off research project for Walmart, you’d need to use Unity Pro, even though the project wasn’t going to be sold or anything. But if you went home and worked on your Game of the Century for yourself, then you could use the free version of Unity until you had earned $100k from your Unity projects.
