I bought Unity this morning. I got the 1.6.2 serial and started playing with it, but I was wondering: when v2 comes out, will we be allowed to use both v1.6.2 and v2 on the same computer, or on different computers, etc? If I’m collaborating with a friend can they have v1.6.2 on their machine while I use v2.0 on mine?
That’s good to know… what transferring / lending of the 1.6 serial to a collaborator? Even if the 2.0 projects are not backwards compatible 1.6 might still be useful for prototyping. The code, at least, will port across without too much effort I’d wager.
You’d have to ask OTEE to be sure, but it guess it should be ok… if you own it, you can probably give it.
Importing a project into 2.0 isn’t too bad, but if you have to do it constantly, you’re in for headaches!!
sort of. if you buy a new seat you can do whatever you want but an upgrade is still the same license. iirc you’re allowed to have Unity installed on two machines. obviously, otee has the final word. i’d email david.
Once you upgrade your license, it becomes a Unity 2.0 license. So you naturally can’t use or give away the “old” license because it doesn’t exist, “there is no spoon” so to speak
