Life Size Planets meets the limits of the editor camera

the planets are so big the editor Camera can not Zoom out any more. if it was any bigger i would not be able to focus the camera on them.

What is this about, and WHY is it in showcase?

I did not know were els to put it so i put it here. and i thought it was cool.
and I was showing off my planets i have made for my game

If they meet the limit of the camera, you’re doing it wrong. You shouldn’t even be able to see the edge- Unity can’t even tolerate a full scale Moon in a 1unit : 1 meter scale. And are you showing a problem, or the planets?

Read it…

He is showing off his planets he made for his game.

Also, in this, he is basically saying that he actually reached the limit for unity’s editor camera.
I never actually considered unity having a limit like that (though of course everything has its own limit)

Though, considering how far you are probably zoomed out at the moment, nice looking planets!

wow i didn’t think there was a limit, what happens when you reach the edge?

Of course there’s a limit. Read up on floating point math.

@Chaoss. nothing happens the camera just stops and you can’t zoom out any more.

Why? How?! Awesome either way, but I am not sure why you didn’t scale things from the beginning?

?? im confused what do you mean why didn’t i scale things from the beginning.

and here is my planet earth post

Hmmm, I have a scene that is very large, but nothing like a life-sized planet, and Unity cannot go out any further.
