[lighmaps] Directional Light issue

Hi!

I’ve been playing around with lightmaps and I’m having a bit of an issue with the directional light. I have a veeery simple scene but for some reason, my sun light doesn’t seem to be bouncing at all and I’m getting pretty much no indirect illumination from it.

My render is set to Deferred and I’m using Dual Lightmaps. The sun is set to Auto, so if I understood correctly, it should still be baked and the GI should take care of lighting the room, right?

So I’m wondering what the hell I can be doing wrong here :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Here are my settings for this test:

Player and quality settings:

Directional light and lightmap settings
1434945--76602--$light.jpg 1434945--76603--$lightmap.jpg

Result after bake:
1434945--76607--$result.jpg

As you can see nothing much happens…:rage: And you can see a bright outline around the walls, which I guess comes from the bias.
I’m pretty much doing exactly what http://youtu.be/tdn59ajbkNI?t=5m12s is doing.

Anyone has any idea what can be wrong and how to fix this?

Thanks in advance! :o

Is the game object for your room set to “Static-Lightmaps”?

Yup, it is, sorry should have mentioned it.
Everything works as it should aside from the bounce sun light and it’s starting to get on my nerves

Here’s the same scene with an emitter material instead of the sun light:

Nobody?
I find the whole thing very puzzling, especially when I’ve seen other people get it to work…

perhaps you sun light intensity is not high enough to make any real bounces? Looks like your setup is working just fine. You have little bounces for a light with little intensity.

Yeah, seems like it. Weird, I thought it would propagate more than that…
I get decent results when I push the sun intensity a little bit but mostly raising the bounce intensity and bounce boost to the max.

Oh well, thanks!
