Lighting not going through thin air correctly.

Hi there, see attached image for the basic idea:

Basically, the lights seem to be working fine, but their illumination is suddenly halved when going through this completely open doorway. Does anyone know whats wrong?

The geometry of the rooms and lights is all blender imported FBX files. Any translations were applied (CTRL-A in blender) in blender, and there’s no hidden objects in the doorway.

EDIT: Also worth mentioning, is that the light columns geomerty, the lit up room, and the corridor all have the exact same material.

Sorry didn’t understand.

What he meant was probably this:

The room containing the lights is fully illuminated, but the light doesn’t really shine through the other room.

Oh in that case you either increase the bounce count (not recommended as it increases render time) increase the intensity multiplier, or the best option is to add a baked point light into the other room.

The only other thing I could think of was maybe the normals need to be flipped, if the mesh is completely black.
