Lighting Off

Hey all.

I have created some ‘leaves’, with a two sided model, using the Transparent/Cutoff/Diffuse shader.

Currently the front face(lit) is nicely readable, however the back face(unlit) is practically black and does not look all that good.

What i would like to have is basically the same lighting(or lack of lighting) on both sides.

I have tried to edit the shader. I downloaded the default shaders pack and found all the ‘Lighting On’ comments and changed them to ‘Lighting Off’. However i don’t know if it has attached to the object, as the shader is not appearing in my shader list(Or i am changing the default shader in the list with no effect).

I have tried using layers to isolate the ‘leaves’ from the directional light, but can’t get them to work at all. Are layers a pro feature only?

Can anyone offer ideas for a solution?

I have been searching the forum constantly for the last month or two trying to find answers to my numerous questions. I have tried finding the answer to this question on the forums, and in the shader documents. Perhaps i have not understood what i have read or my searches weren’t correctly termed or accurate to American spelling and so on, so please forgive me asking for help if the answer is already out there.

I will continue to try and find a solution on my own, but any help would be appreciated(A lot).

Cheers
-Steven

Try the Nature/Vegetation Two-Pass Unlit shader.

Layers are available to all versions of Unity… for a thorough overview of the differences check out this page:
