Lightmap banding

I am getting some weird banding using lightmaps I am bringing in from Mental Ray. Here is a pic, I pumped up the exposure so that the banding is more obvious. I am 90% sure this is not in the light map, I checkin in Photoshop on high exposure. I also am not compressing the lightmaps on import, not that that seems to cause this problem anyway.

I also just tested and it looks like the problem also happens to beast generated light maps. Could it be a shader problem?

looks to me to be a simple shader issue. I’m not aware of any real problems with this approach or any outstanding bugs. It could be the uv maps are borked for the lightmap channel.
