Lightmap question, Cookie and IES lights

Hi all,

Im attempting to get a real light simulation in my scene, and for that im using 50 point and spot lights.

All the spot lights have enabled the cookie texture, to get and real nice effect like a IES light.
Im using the standard cookie flashlight.

The final effect is real nice, but i have one question.

These lights are all static, and im trying to bake whit the option for the light, baked only. what means, that i dont want to spend realtime processing with these lights.

But when i bake with all lights in bakedonly mode, the cookie isnt appearing, and the ilumination of my scene get darker, when i bake in automode the render is fine, the cookie is fine, but if a dele the light, the cookie in the wall dissapear.

Is there a way to get in the lightmap, the cookie effect like shadows and stuuf like that? without using processing?

This is the image with realtime selected, but i want to bake these cookies is this possible?

Anyone? Ive tried all kind of settings, and always ends with bad lighting and no cookies :expressionless:
our company is about to buy pro and my trial is ending, please any kind of help would be great.
Cheers

Baking spot lights with cookies works just fine, also in Bake Only mode.

What doesn’t work is point lights with cookies in Bake Only mode, because Beast doesn’t support that (yet?).

So you should just make sure to use spot lights wherever you need cookies to be baked.

As a side note, if you want all your baked lights to be fully baked and avoid using any realtime lights, you should just switch to Single Lightmaps (Lightmapping window, the Bake pane) - that way are Auto lights will behave as Baked Only, which is what you need. Also the unnecessary near lightmaps won’t be generated.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, ive baked the lightmap in single mode, i set all lights with cookies as spots (they already was).
But no cookies! look the final baked lightmap. isnt realistic and with no cookies.

Am i missing something? Maybe some about the values like resolution or something?

Maybe just a tought, but all the materials should be legacy-lightmap ?

Well…iv managed to get this works.

i think is something related about the scale of my models.

I set the resolution to 300 and works fine…thanks

Andrecarrano: I’d like to hear more about how you were able to get this to work. I can’t seem to get cookies to render no matter how I try (or what thread I read)…

[edit]

When you are talking “resolution”, are you talking about the bake resolution as in “texels per world unit”?

For a game 300 is very high.

Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making, try this for IES lights.

Sorry for stirring up an old thread… so has baking light with cookies been implemented in latest version?

I am using cookies to cut down the number of lights. So using multiple lights to recreate similar effect is out of question.
AFAIK, projector is not working as its neither a light nor a mesh.

Lightmap cookies not implemented, even in 2018.2
