Lightmaps are Incredibly Distorted?

Hello. I want to preface this by saying I’m not super well-versed in lightmap baking and this isn’t MY project. The developer had given me this to see if I could do anything in terms of optimization, so I’m not 100% on the ins and outs of the project.

Right now, I’m trying to bake the lighting, but it feels like no matter what settings I adjust, I get some crazy spotting and it’s incredibly frustrating. Does anybody have any idea what causes this? For this bake, I used all default settings (lower res for faster bake time), but the lightmaps look similarly blotchy no matter how I’ve adjusted them. Thank you for anyone who can help!

Seems like in an issue with the mesh Lightmap UVs.
