Lightmaps baked from PC breaks on MAC

Hi all,

I have this massive issue in regards to baking lightmap scenes on PC and then transferring the scenes via Asset server to a MAC. The lightmaps break with artifacts all over the place in the MAC book pro which is where my final builds are done.

I woud love to know if there is anyone with a work around on this. I have seen a thread where there is the same problem but the files were transferred through SVN. I might have missed a thread somewhere about this issue. But I did countless of searching but no luck on a work around.

This is a super frustrating issue when i have 64 scenes i have to bake and they take at least 15 to 20 minutes each scene.

I did a reimport. Also closed a project and then re open again. Also copied and pasted my files from the PC version and then put it in the mac still did not work.

I posted a bug report about this a couple of days ago but I have no answer. I know unity is very busy, but i thought might give it a try with the community and see if you anyone has experienced and deal with this same situation.

I am using unity 3.4.2F3 pro version
same goes on the mac book pro.

Any help would be great. :sunglasses:

From 3.5 Public Beta Release Notes:

Editor: “Generate Lightmap UVs” fixes regarding mac/win difference. Not there yet, but should be fixed for most. Please reimport meshes and rebake.

So maybe try that?

HI JFO

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately we cannot use 3.5 yet it could break some stuff in the project or something unexpected could happen.

I did try reimporting the meshes but it is still totally broken all 64 scenes. It is a total waste of my time rebaking all 64 scenes especially i have a slow processor on the mac when rendering lightmaps it doubles my time :frowning:
The lightmaps work great on PC but I cannot think of any other work around.

I even tried reimporting every asset from asset server back to a fresh directory but still no go… =(

From my observations this has not been fixed in 3.5.2
