This is the thread for the game Bitdrill.
Bitdrill is set in the future, where miners dig deep into the ground to retrieve precious minerals and buy better equipment and make more money.

-Blocks crumble and smash when subject to drilling
-There is a store where you can sell and buy goods
-You have an inventory that shows how much of each block you have
I ought to release a build before I try to make it multiplayer. Stay tuned, and please don’t make any Minecraft ripoff comments, because Ace of Spades and Block Story both seem to have made it through fine

Game is coming along well Thinking of eventually starting a Kickstarter when very close to completion. Right now I’m working on the single player aspect, and will probably work on multiplayer once my single player draft is coming along well.

This game has differences from Minecraft. Minecraft seems grounded in Fantasy, mine is more sci-fi and modern. Also, Minecraft’s world is infinite. mine is not. Minecraft involves getting resources and crafting them. In my game, you sell your minerals and buy things from the store. Also, I could be wrong, but Minecraft doesn’t incorporate my temperature dynamic (temperature dependent on night/day and altitude, and your suit can only tolerate a certain temperature.) In many ways, yes, it is similar to Minecraft, but isn’t Counterstrike similar to Call of Duty?
If you are purely talking about art style, than yes, it is similar. But I happen to like the art style Also, you will notice my drills break conventional block-like-ness, by adding angles. Also, do you see any trees? The ground on the asteroid is supposed to be boring so people will drill down. The ground in Minecraft is usually interesting from what I’ve seen. Does Minecraft allow you to break through a ton of blocks without wearing down your equipment? I’m not saying my game is better than Minecraft, and yes, it is similar in some aspects, but there are differences.
Ok, I haven’t played either so I wouldn’t know how similar they are, but don’t they both involve guns? Multiplayer? Shooting other players? Isn’t that 3d shooting mechanic a spinoff of Wolfenstein 3d?
Also, have you ever heard of a game called Infiniminer?

Plus I’m not forcing this game down your throat, if you don’t like it, you don’t need to follow its development. Some might even say when Notch made Minecraft, he created a whole new genre. So I give you permission to call it a ‘Minecraft clone’ if you want, because yes, it copies a lot from Minecraft. It was inspired by Minecraft. But should we start calling FPS’s ‘Doom Clones’?
