Liverpool Unity Developers?

Any people living in Liverpool UK?
Want to do a meet up?

I used to live there, and regularly visit. I only just left on Tuesday. It would be nice to meet up on a future visit.

I’m From Liverpool.

Im in NELincs unfortunately.

We can sort out a coffee at your favourite cafe. Leaf on bold street is nice and they have wifi XD
Shame all the developer conferences are in London.

Anyone going to Ayacon by any chance?

Aww gutted, I left Liverpool almost 2 years ago. Stayed in Liverpool for almost 6 years. Miss the place loads. Used to stay at Crosshall Street near the city centre. Would have been ace if could meet other Unity developers. Is Leaf new? Is it near the FACT?

Hiya,

I am based in Warrington but work in Huyton and know Liverpool extremely well. I just started working with Unity 3D at the weekend and I have started writing a game called ‘Crash Landed’ (using Lerpz as my main protaganist).

It would be good to meet some other developers to exchange knowledge etc.

One of the biggest developer conferences is Develop in Brighton. for the last couple of years there has been a 1-day offshoot Develop Liverpool.

I went to a 1-day iPhone developer conference at FACT about 18 months ago. Not heard if that has been repeated.

I went to a developer conference in Liverpool while I was at JMU. This was a couple years back. They had speakers from all over the place including one from sony to talk about the then new CELL processor in PS3s. (she was pretty too lol)

@Hakimo Yes, Leaf is new and is across the road from the FACT. Used to be some kind of trendy clothes shop.

So when are people free? I’m assuming the weekend. I’m busy this weekend but I can probably do the next weekend.

@Spinaljack Was that the Develop in Liverpool 2010. I didn’t manage to go to that one. I remembered the game design technology workshop though. They had one in Fact and also in Holiday Inn. It wasn’t that bad too.

It would have been in 2005/6
Then I moved out of Liverpool for a couple years so I must have missed these other ones.

I went to the video game exhibition in the FACT, that was pretty cool.
They had a piece where fake blood would spray on a wall every time someone was killed in a game of counter strike.

I’ve just thought of something: There’s going to be a Rock Paper Shotgun meetup in Manchester on the 28th May

original post:

venue update:

Manchester is like an hour on the train so it’s not too bad. They’re meeting at the http://www.kyotolounge.com/ for 3pm which is a gaming bar and they’ve book the PC room for 6pm.

We can all hike over there and talk about game development as well as have drinks and play games with the awesome RPS people.

A reminder to folks near Manchester that the RPS meet is this weekend on Saturday 28th.
If anyone wants to come chat about unity / game development we can mill around whenever is convenient

you guys going to form the new Beattle Unity team hehe…
