lock objects in editor?

A newbe-ish question I guess, but I couldn’t find it in the editor:

How can I lock objects in Scene View? I want my level mesh not to be selectable.

There’s no way to lock objects. That would make a good feature request, though. I’d certainly like to be able to lock the local transform of objects to prevent myself from moving them by mistake.

If your problem is just that you keep clicking on the scenery when you’re trying to hit objects within it, maybe you could put it in a separate layer. Then, when you want to get at the things inside it, you could use the editor’s layer filter menu to turn it off.

Hi!

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, using layers is no option because it would mess up my cameras, which seperate layers.

@ Neil-are you meaning layers as in rendering layers-ones that cameras are assigned to render or not? How do you turn them off? If thats not what you are refering to, then how do you access editor layers?
Thanks
AC

Since some recent version, there has been a Layers popup menu in the top toolbar of the Scene View pane. It just affects how the Scene View displays things.
