"Locking" Game Objects?

I always find myself clicking on game objects that I don’t mean/want to and since I keep things organized in the hierarchy, it opens all of the empty game objects I setup as labels, and I end up having to scroll quite a bit to minimize it so it stays clean. Is there anyway to lock a game object so it doesn’t open it in the hierarchy when I click it?

Heyya!

You can’t, as far as I know, but if you select any child object and use the back arrow key, you’ll jump to the parent of that object. If you use the back arrow again you should collapse it right back =)

That’s an okay fix for now. Hopefully Unity can implement a feature to handle this for me.

Not quite what you’re asking for but it might help… you can assign game objects to layers and then show/hide and lock things by layer using the layers dropdown in the top right of the editor.

Actually… This is exactly what I am asking! Never even knew that button existed, until now. Thanks!
