LOD distance - on joints/bones to turn animation off?

Greetings,

Here another newbie question for which I couldn’t find an answer. I am looking for an non-scripting artist-friendly approach if possible.

In other game engines, one can set the visibility/animation-play distance for each bone of a character to boost performance.

What I would like to do is, to turn off the animation of the fingertips at 1m distance and the facial bones at 2m distance from the camera, then a few meters further the hierachy above that and so on.

I didn’t find a field in the bone settings, but maybe I just overlooked it.

Any help would be very appreciated. :slight_smile:
