LOD Issues with Speedtree

I’ve posted on the Speedtree forum

but am unable to get any useful feedback.

I purchased a Desktop Tree package and also subscribed to use the Modeller to create random trees.

I’ve followed directions simply saving the generated tree with assets into my Assets folder.

On many of my trees I am seeing strange low resolution areas and dark glitches.

In the attached you can see the unrendered leaves as well as the dark areas on the trunk.

Are there any Unity experts reading this that are also experienced with handling Speedtree assets?

Thanks. It seems the issue has something to do with Unity confusing LOD’s between various instances of the same tree model. The only 100% solution I’ve found was to create a unique instance in the modeller for every tree instance in Unity…not ideal obviously because of memory and performance issues.
