Logging bugs

Hi,

I know this is pretty much a dead horse, but, Unity Issue Tracker (unity3d.com) doesnt show submitted bugs, only bugs that have been reproduced. The bug reported in unity says you will receive an Email about your report… never have… I was asked to submit a report a month ago, which I did, nothing, absolutely nothing… I was then asked for the bug ID, how can I give one when i have absolutely nothing to show for it?

It makes it feel like a black hole. i appreciate unity probably get 1000s of reports a day, but, there really would benefit a way to see your previous reports and a status, eg waiting review, dismissed, moved to issue tracker surely with all the programmers around this must be possible?

on and the feedback link at the top of that page takes you to a server that doesnt exist?

I do get emails, though the links in those emails aren’t to that issue tracker, they’re to unity3d.atlassian.net, and the emails come from the same place. Is it possible that they’re getting caught in your spam filter as they’re coming from an unexpected domain?

I think that what happens is that you can see your own bugs via unity3d.atlassian.net, and the issue tracker site Unity runs themselves is just for items they share publicly. If you go to unity3d.atlassian.net do you see the stuff you’ve submitted? I can’t remember if you log in with your Unity account, or if you need to make one with Atlassian, or how that works.

I do recall it being a bit irritating the first time I navigated that, as I already had an Atlassian account which was completely unrelated.

Well. I can see all mails including the spam bin and zero. As its a private mail server im admin on. So any effort should show up. But nothing. Ive logged 3 bugs in the last month. Nothing.
Like you. I have an account but it says i dont have access to unitys.
So i cant tell.

Yeah, that’s what I got the first time. I had to log in some other way, possibly with my Unity account, before I could see my Unity bugs there. Alas, I don’t recall details.

The lack of emails suggests something isn’t going right, though. I think the first one is automated and comes through in just a few minutes. I’ll check later if I remember.

but like so much as an end user, if i hit send, and it says it did, i should have the right to believe it (IMHO) the fact that i get nothing then is just disappointing as I have run into a few issues spent ages making a tiny project to upload and demonstrate the issue and its just a waste of time. or at least it seems it

Well, I can’t be sure until I send another one, but from looking at some bug reports, the first email is “New Incident created: IN-XXXXX - ”, and from memory they appear shortly after the submission finishes. Then there are more emails days or weeks later when someone does something with it.

Yep 100% not getting those, i logged 2 bugs today, absolutely nothing in the spam filter, or my mailbox… or anywhere in fact in the logs saying i burried it in a folder or something dumb. Im just not geting emails but if i log a bug about something else with unity (so pick a different product) I get those!!
