Hi There
Iam looking for a good free to download morphing example in 3ds max, ideally something that makes use of multiple morph targets per channel etc, does anyone have such a file or know where one could be found, want to have a play with morphing in Unity.
Thanks
Chris
Unless something has changed, and it is supported in Unity 3 (I don’t think it has), morphing isn’t supported in Unity. There is a script on the wiki for morphing, but I haven’t tested it out, near as I can guess, it would accomplish this through mesh swapping.
Something has changed at least in my world of Unity. I have all the morph info exporting from Max via fbx export to Unity and have it all working but not being an artist or a max guru I was hoping to find a good example to test my code. Guess I’ll just have to try harder at max and see what I can do ![]()
Thank you for your time.
Chris
Ahhh, so you wrote the morph support. Very cool.
I haven’t used Max in years, but I have access to it, I might be able to put something together for you.
Hit me with specifics, and I can see what I can do.
Whoa… Morph info into Unity? Really? That would be amazing. Would this be for Pro only or for the more cash contrite among us?
Is this what you are talking about?

Can’t wait to see more examples.
I am thinking of using Unity. But was not sure if I should as it dose not have morph capabilities.
Well spotted. Yes that was slightly feeble effort at doing a test model
But it does show it works.
Well I’ll bite… looks very interesting. Great work.
Is this something you will make available to the community? Do you have a time-line for availability? I’d really love to test this out. Would make some stuff much more fun to work on.

This was something that has kept me from pulling the trigger on Unity for years…
I can give you models that have standard morphs and also skin morphs as well…
They are skinned to CAT rigs though…, can Unity take CAT bones…
I would love to see this pipeline perfected in Unity…
Let me know.
